well...we did it!

All I can say is it was a big sucess...and many thanks to all the inspired people who made it happen.

So many good emotions !...we worked, we horsed around, we created, we listened and we shared.

The photography department was so deep, we are going to have a show of some of the breathtaking portraits.

Hair, makeup, wardrobe...really treated everyone with respect, and made it fun for everyone. and turned out some BEAUTY!
doing the staff!..above the call of duty!

The volenteers, standing ovation. I want to give a shout out to the kids and students who
jumped right in...and worked so hard. You know who you are!

It was a true team effort and I count our clients as part of the team...THANK YOU EVERYONE.

this is the basic explanation if you want to pass info on...

I am working with a great big charity event called BigSunday
(bigsunday.org ) It is a huge event here in Los angeles with dozens of
programs to help Los angeles and its people in a million ways.
Last year we had 32,000 volenteers......

This is one of the projects......we are doing hair, makeup
and wardrobe styling on Sunday April 29th for 60 homeless women who live
in the Good Sheppard shelter in Echo park.
We are doing a Day of Beauty to help them as they
transition back to the work environment, make them feel special and
respected and give them the tools to recreate the new looks.

Here is what I need...ANY HAIR OR MAKEUP PRODUCTS to leave these
women so they can continue to look and feel
special and beautiful after the event is over. Also, a BUSINESS
CLOTHING drive...donate your clothes at NONI 225 N Larchmont
large sizes especially needed...Shoes, bags and belts too...

VOLENTEERS ON THE DAY...to organize, serve snacks, clean up, and bring
posative energy.........

FOOD..snacks and sandwiches, to feed the 90 or so people participating on the day
and
HAIRSTYLISTS, MAKEUP ARTISTS AND WARDROBE STYLISTS to donate their
time, creative talent and good vibes at the event......
I bet it willbe a very satisfying experience.
Let me know what you think .... Thanks in advance.......Roz

Just added ... Cecil Cole is heading up the photography department!

reminder of the special day.

I can picture a series of portraits...

Thanks Cecil!

Welcome to A Day of Beauty!

Well, this is a new blog about what is going on at the Big Sunday charity event called A Day of Beauty.

The girls from The Doll Service and I are recruiting professional hairdressers, makeup artists, and wardrobe stylists to make over 60 women who live in a homeless shelter in Echo Park on Sunday April 29th.

We want to leave them with a new outfit, and some makeup and hair products so they can recreate themselves after the event is over and share with them tips for looking their best, and hopefully make them feel special and beautiful. Luckily so many great people are coming through.

Of course there is more to this than meets the eye......like what is everybody going to eat and music and clean up and scheduling etcetera.....But the donations just keep coming....

Big Brad and Pete Foley are hooking us up with a generator to run all the blowdryers, Stila, Delux, and Cover Girl all agreed to donate products in generous quantities and Nigel from Frend's beauty supply gave us tons of stuff.

We are still working on the food donations and I haven't even started with clothing donations yet.....but we have 2 drop off sites.....one is at the Shelter in Echo park ( 1650 Rockwood ...90026 ) and the new one is at Noni on Larchmont! Go Bory!!

Janet Hasse is heading up the very fancy wardrobe stylist dept...... She has it pretty much all set up.

Heather Levine is doing some producing.....hitting up expendable companies and such...

Sam Music.....working on food donations...I think Whole Foods is gonna donate some stuff...go Jeannie!

That's about it for now......

If you want to volunteer...sign up here and choose either 0152 or 0153...... Or email me.

It feels great to give!
